Training
Flight Training
RMFTC is a Part 141 training facility with FAA-approved training course outlines for each certificate we offer, including private pilot ground school. This is a more structured approach than a Part 61 school, allowing a lower hour requirement overall. Part 141 does, however, allow a lower amount of transferrable hours when moving in the middle of a training course. Please keep this in mind when starting a course of training. If you expect to be moving soon, or are moving into the area in the middle of a course of training, please contact the RMFTC office to find out how we can best help you.
Below is a short list of Part 141 required minimums for our most popular courses, as well as information on some of our other offerings. Numbers provided for our courses are minimums only. Members book their own flights according to their own schedules. RMFTC does not set hours for students or instructors. As such, the actual time in weeks that it takes to finish a course of training will vary based on how often a student is able to fly. Keep in mind, weather and maintenance will delay everything. Proper treatment of aircraft will help reduce maintenance requirements, but there is no control over the weather.
