Private Pilot
Federal Aviation Administration Regulations (FAR) prescribe the requirements for becoming a private pilot. They include, but are not limited to:
- Section 61.103, Eligibility Requirements
- Section 61.105, Aeronautical knowledge
- Section 61.107, Flight Proficiency
- Section 61.109, Aeronautical Experience

Minimum FAA Part 141 requirements are: 35 hours of ground school, 35 hours of flight training, including 20 hours with an instructor, 3 hours cross country, 3 hours night flight, 3 hours instrument training and 5 hours solo.
